Slaughter does a commendable job through fiction of bringing to light what is reality. I haven’t read any of Philippa Gregory’s other, I spend a lot of time reading in cars while I wait. I really, truly want them all to be okay in their lives outside of work, and I just want to be upfront about the fact that I think I like the personal lives-aspect of the book even more than the crime portion. Strong characters, a tight plot and a sense of place that makes you feel like Grant County is areal place you might have visited. I HAVE ENJOYED SEVERAL BOOKS IN THE GRANT COUNTY SERIES.THIS ONE WAS VERY DETAILED IN TOO MANY WAYS.DEFINITELY NOT FOR ANYONE WITH A WEAK STOMACH.WISH THER WAS A WAY TO GET THESE BOOKS IN SOME TYPE OF SEQUENCE.I HAVE TRIED YEAR OF PUBLICATION,THAT HAS NOT WORKED.THE AUTHOR SEEMS TO GO BACK AND PICK UP ANOTHER STORY LINE,WHICH CAN RUIN IT AS FAR AS THE TIMELINE GOES.
