A country-specific บทคัดย่อ สภาพแวดล้อมในทุกชั้นเรียนสะท้อนถึงลักษณะทางวัฒนธรรมของประเทศนั้น งานวิจัยนี้จึงมุ่งศึกษาลักษณะทางวัฒนธรรม โดยการเปรียบเทียบสิ่งแวดล้อมในห้องเรียนวิทยาศาสตร์ของประเทศในแถบเอเชีย คือ เกาเหลีใต้และไทย เครื่องมือวิจัยคือแบบสอบถาม 2 ฉบับได้แก่ What Is Happening In this Class (WIHIC) และ the Cultural Learning Environment Questionnaire (CLEQ) และเก็บข้อมูลจากนักเรียนจำนวนทั้งสิ้น 1575 คน โดยแบ่งเป็นนักเรียนชาวเกาหลีใต้จำรนวน 765 นักเรียนชาวไทยจำนวน 810 คน ซึ่งเป็นนักเรียนระดับชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 4 และ 6 และระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 2 และ 4 การวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลและผลการวิจัยมุ่งอธิบายมิติทางวัฒนธรรม 4 ด้าน ปรับปรุงจากกรอบแนวคิดของ Hofstede ผลการวิจัยในมิติแรกคือความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างความเป็นปัจเจกชนและกลุ่ม พบว่านักเรียนทั้งสองประเทศชอบกิจกรรมที่ได้ทำงานร่วมกันและได้แลกเปลี่ยนความรู้สึกในชั้นเรียน แต่กิจกรรมที่เกิดการแลกเปลี่ยนความรู้เกิดขึ้นในประเทศไทยมากกว่าประเทศเกาหลีใต้ มิติที่สองคือความเท่าเทียม ผลการวิจัยพบว่านักเรียนเกือบทั้งหมดของประเทศเกาหลีใต้รับรู้ว่าตนเองได้มีส่วนร่วมกับกิจกรรมในชั้นเรียนอย่างเท่าเทียมกัน สำหรับประเทศไทยนักเรียนคิดว่าตนเองได้มีส่วนร่วมกิจกรรมในชั้นเรียนอย่างเท่าเทียม แต่ยกเว้นประเด็นความเท่าเทียมด้านเพศ โดยนักเรียนชายและนักเรียนหญิงของไทยคิดว่าตนมีส่วนร่วมกิจกรรมแตกต่างกัน มิติที่สามคือความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างนักเรียนและครู โดยแบ่งเป็น 2 ประเด็น คือ อำนาจของครูและการส่งเสริมจากครู พบว่าในประเด็นอำนาจของครู ระยะห่างเชิงจิตวิทยาระหว่างอำนาจของครูกับนักเรียนของสองประเทศเหมือนกัน แต่ในประเด็นการส่งเสริมจากครูพบว่า นักเรียนไทยมีการรับรู้เชิงบวกเกี่ยวกับการส่งเสริมจากครูมากกว่านักเรียนเกาหลีใต้ มิติที่สี่คือการสอนและการเรียนรู้วิทยาศาสตร์ พบว่านักเรียนเกาหลีใต้มีการรับรู้เชิงลบมากกว่านักเรียนไทยในประเด็นการมีส่วนร่วม การสำรวจตรวจสอบ และการมุ่งงาน การรับรู้เชิงลบของนักเรียนเกาหลีใต้อาจส่งผลทำให้การเข้าร่วมกิจกรรมในชั้นเรียนวิทยาศาสตร์น้อยลง บทความวิจัยนี้ได้ใช้ผลการวิจัยมาเสนอแนะเกี่ยวกับการจัดการเรียนการสอนในชั้นเรียนวิทยาศาสตร์ที่เหมาะสมกับวัฒนธรรม.
